How to wire a silk flower

Wiring a flower is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Well, 1, 2, 3, 4 really!

What you need

Step 1.

Pass the wire through the open end of flower head. If there is glue in the way, you might have to pick it off.

Step 2.

Loop the end of the wire. We loop the wire so that it wont pass back through the opening

Step 3.

Twist the end of the wire. Twisting the wire makes it harder for the wire to unravel in step 4

Step 4.

Pull back down on the wire. Pull until the flower does not rattle around when you shake the wire.

Secret Professional Tip

While wiring flowers is quite easy, sometimes you will get frustrated by flower that just does not want to be wired. In fact, you may even find yourself swearing at the flowers!

Don't worry, this sort of thing happens to the best of us (You really don't want to hear some of the things I have called my flowers!)

Instead of staying on this particular flower and getting frustrated, leave it and work on another one. Often the flower will "magically" seem to wire correctly when you get back to it, and you'll wonder what all the fuss was about...
